Chris Ward
Managing DirectorChris is a Chartered Surveyor who started his property career with retail and investment specialist Edward Erdman in the early 1990s before moving into development with Blue Circle Industries as part of the FTSE 100 company's focus on re-developing their extensive land portfolio for commercial uses.
Projects included the creation of Bluewater with Lend Lease and a successful Business Park at Dartford, a leisure destination at Medway Valley, and mixed-use schemes in Sittingbourne and Cambridge. Chris joined Land Securities in 2001 working on large scale investment acquisitions and development projects including the purchase of the LXB portfolio for £600m, Kingsway West Retail Park, Dundee and projects in Exeter, Peterborough, and London.
Chris was a member of the senior development team at Land Securities overseeing all mixed use, shopping centre and retail park developments. His role included leading the acquisition of sites that increased the portfolio by 1.5m sq. ft. and managing a JV between Land Securities and J Sainsbury's that developed several prominent residential and commercial sites. Chris co-founded a Retirement Village development company in 2016 and has been a Director of EMH for 25 years.
Jo Ward
Finance DirectorJo has a degree in business studies and has worked in finance and marketing and held senior management positions at the Publicis Group in London. Jo manages East Mon's business and development financing and manages the Newhouse Industrial Estate.
Jo works with CBRE on the creation and implementation of the marketing strategy for Newhouse and works with debt and equity investors to bring forward projects for the Company, both development and investment opportunities.
Graeme Guthrie
Non-Executive DirectorGraeme is a corporate lawyer with extensive experience of M&A, Private Equity and debt financing deals. Practising latterly in London, he headed up the corporate teams of Morgan Cole (now Blake Morgan) and Campbell Hooper (since merged with Charles Russell Speechly Bircham).
Whilst in practice, Graeme acted for a broad mix of clients including property companies and their lenders in corporate and funding transactions. Graeme has been a Director of EMH since 2013.
Chris Major
DirectorChris started his career in logistics and held senior management positions at United Transport before going on to join one of the first international PC computer providers, Digital Equipment Company (DEC). Chris specialised in the logistics side of the global business.
Chris has always taken an interest in property development and was a Founder of EMH in 1971, helping the successful development of Newhouse, and today provides an in-depth knowledge of the developable land.
Mike Fisher
Estates ManagerMike has an agricultural background, gaining a farm management degree before working in agricultural operations. Mike founded an estate management business in 1991 which included agricultural machinery contracting, providing services to both the business and agricultural sectors.
Today Mike's business includes managing the Newhouse Industrial Estate for EMH as well as direct contracts with most of the main operators trading there. Mike provides EMH with technical expertise, identifying and mitigating development constraints and optimising cost efficiency in the provision of new serviced plots on site.
